The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), a private non-profit organization that works to recruit adoptive homes for children waiting in foster care, is seeking a full time Child Services Coordinator. Major responsibilities include developing, coordinating and administering the individual adoption recruitment plans for the children/teens waiting for adoptive homes in the Boston and Central Mass regions of the state. This includes registering and writing profiles of children, seeking to identify appropriate family matches, coordinating television, print and web media campaigns, and following the progress of each child toward a successful match. Other responsibilities include answering adoption information questions from the general public, event planning, and community outreach. The position does not involve direct work with children but rather collaborative work with the Department of Children and Families and contracted adoption agency staff.

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and some social work/human services experience. Master’s degree and familiarity with the child welfare system is preferred. Candidates must have strong organizational, interpersonal and advocacy skills, including excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member. Access to consistent, reliable personal transportation for in-state travel is also required. This position is out of the Boston office with frequent travel within greater Boston and Worcester.
