On February 5, 2015, CLM, in conjunction with the Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) and Citizens for Juvenile Justice (CfJJ), hosted an informational briefing for legislators on children in the care and custody of the Department of Children and Families and how these children are often also involved with our mental health and juvenile justice and systems. We invited legislators and their staff to join us for an informative event to help them make informed decisions that will impact these populations.
CLM specifically targeted new legislators, as well as other legislators in key decision-making roles, to attend. We believe this event provided an opportunity to meet new faces in the body and reconnect with those we know are supporters of issues integral to the children and families of the Commonwealth. We had representatives from over 30 legislative offices attend the event. CLM will continue to work with these offices on our legislative and budgetary priorities in the current session.
