The state’s child welfare system has been in the news a lot lately as part of the gubernatorial campaign – and the Children’s League of Massachusetts would like to keep it that way. Thank you to the Baker, Coakley, Falchuk and McCormick campaigns for already making this promise to Massachusetts children.
To ensure that the children in the care of the Commonwealth remain a priority as we elect a new governor and begin the 2015-2016 legislative session, the Children’s League has created a Children’s Promise that we hope you will sign onto. By doing so, you will be pledging to make sure our kids are not forgotten.
At CLM, we know that the legislature is key to producing lasting reform—and ensuring that reform is properly funded. We hope you will join all four gubernatorial candidates in signing on to the Massachusetts Children’s Promise. As you can see, CLM does not lay out what should be done to reform the system, just that we want our legislators to put this reform in the priority category. Because these kids—our kids—can’t wait.
