Membership Benefits

CLM Member Benefits

When an organization joins the Children’s League of Massachusetts, it joins a family of outstanding and committed organizations that can be counted on for collaborative child advocacy as well as professional support, advice, and technical assistance. All member organizations serve as board directors and receive all of the following services and benefits:

  • Representation on statewide policy issues in order to make policy makers aware of the needs of children, their families, and the organizations that support them.
  • Participation on a number of State Administration advisory groups like the DCF Statewide Advisory Council, the Children’s Behavioral Health Advisory Council, and its Child Systems Integration Committee. Members are often encouraged to participate.
  • Monthly board meetings that address key topics in children’s services in a format that encourages participation.
  • Direct dialogue with state agencies because, unlike other groups, the commissioners and the staff of several state agencies are members of the League and regularly attend meetings. Often, legislators also attend to speak on their various initiatives, allowing members unique access to provide direct input.
  • Ongoing communications keep member organizations abreast of current trends and policy developments, often with a detailed analysis provided by the experienced staff of the League.
  • Comprehensive and detailed alerts and updates are provided on budgetary, legislative and regulatory issues impacting children, youth and family policy issues, and member organizations.
  • Opportunities to help guide administrative, legislative, and regulatory policies by actively participating on League committees and work groups in public policy areas of interest. Current League committees include: Child Welfare and Public Policy/Advocacy. The League establishes Ad Hoc committees to address specific issues as they arise.
  • Participation in the development of, and advocacy for, an annual policy agenda that includes legislation, the state budget, regulations, and Administrative policies.
  • Peer support for organizational leaders that represent all facets of children’s services and the advocacy community.
  • Training and retreat opportunities for executive level staff.
  • Public education and media advocacy.
  • Information and resource sharing.
  • Collaboration with state and national children’s groups, especially on practice and policy issues.
  • A listing on the website of the League with a link to the member organizations website.
  • Additionally, as a member of CLM you are entitled to a fee discount of 25% when applying to COA for either accreditation or re-accreditation.
