CLM kicked off Fiscal Year 2020 with a bang. Our legislation moved quickly through committee and the Governor’s budget surpassed our goals by over $11 million for specific children and family services. We were looking forward to closing out our fiscal year surpassing our goals for our legislative, policy and regulatory agenda.
As we entered the last quarter of the fiscal year we were hit, unexpectedly, with the global COVID-19 pandemic. The unprecedented challenges of this past year threatened both the physical and mental health of our staff and our families, yet it also provided an opportunity to join together in ways that give us hope for the future. While the fiscal impact of COVID-19 has yet to be fully realized, it is imperative that now, more than ever, we continue to work together to leverage the human and financial resources to support children, families and the workforce while challenging racial inequities that prevent everyone from having access to well-being.
