This week Congress passed a year-end legislative package that includes the Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act of 2022! This legislation reauthorizing and expanding the MIECHV program will reach President Biden's desk for signature in the coming days.
Thank you to all of our members who worked with CLM to advocate for this important legislation. It is because of your efforts that this five-year reauthorization will double federal funding for MIECHV-funded home visiting programs, double the funding set-aside for tribal communities, and allow for the continued use of virtual home visits.
And of course, a BIG thank you to all of our Representatives and Senators who passed through this critical and essential legislation. The expansion and improvement of MIECHV will provide life-changing resources, training, and support for thousands of families across our state. Now, more families will be able to benefit from this evidence-based program that will create a lasting positive impact on children and youth for generations.
