During this meeting, Commissioner Reardon discussed:
- DYS' investment in their youth diversion program and the program's impact on youth after one year in collaboration with the Office of the Child Advocate
- anticipations with the FY25 budget (read CLM's take on the proposed budget here)
- DYS's strategic planning for FY22 - FY24
- Their support of the Raise the Age bill
- Increasing racial disproportionality of youth entering the DYS system
- staffing changes and workforce development initiatives
Key action items for CLM Members:
- DEADLINE APPROACHING: Urge Committees to Favorably Report Out Our Bills! Legislative Committee Outreach & Advocacy Templates
- Nominate program leaders and front-line staff from CLM's Member organizations for our Awards Ceremony on State House Advocacy Day on May 16th
