CARF International strives to help organizations enhance the quality of their services in child welfare and behavioral health through internationally recognized standards. Quality is achieved through child- and family-driven services. This begins with standards that are developed with the voice of lived experience and structured for providers to involve the child and family in the design, implementation, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of services throughout the duration of care. CARF offers an array of program standards that organizations can choose to include in their survey, such as foster/kinship care, adoption, residential treatment, group home, prevention, shelters, and early childhood development.
